On December 12, 1936, the opening of the "Moscow" cinema took place with the screening of the first Armenian sound film. The architects of the building were Tiran Yerkanyan and Gevorg Kochar. The facade of the building is decorated with bas-reliefs made on the themes of well-known films: "Chapaev", "Pepo", "David Beck", "Sayat-Nova", as well as symbolic sculptures "Dance" and "Bem". Now the Cinema cooperates with a number of well-known companies: The Walt Disney Company, Sony Pictures, Paramount Pictures, 20th Century Fox, DreamWorks, Universal Studios, Warner Bros, including the world's best films. The film list changes quite often. Every Thursday a foreign film premieres. Along with the film screenings, various events and film festivals are organized in the "Moscow" cinema. Throughout the year, various festivals are held in the cinema: "Golden Apricot" International Film Festival, "British Film Festival" and others.
